Congratulations to Stokes Tire and Automotive for their selection as Business/ Member of the Quarter. This family owed business was recognized for their 30 years of honest service in the King community, and for their support of Kingfest and local civic organizations. King City Council meetings are on the 1st Monday of every month, and the Planning Board meetings are on the 4th Monday. Both meetings are at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall.
The Stokes County Board of Commissioners meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, in the Commissioners Chambers in the Ronald Reagan Administrative Building in Danbury. Next meeting is April 27 at 6:00 pm.

Stokes Partnership for Children is looking for vendors to participate in the eighth annual Little Folks Festival scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at King Elementary School, from 10 am until 2 pm. This event is held in celebration of the national Week of the Young Child, April 19-25, which is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Participation is appropriate if services offered are for young children and/or their families. The Little Folks Festival is a fun filled event which focuses on the promotion of early care and education, school readiness, family support and health as it relates to young children and their families and is a resource for community information sharing. This event also offers a variety of fun activities for young children and their families including costume characters, outdoor activities, free books, games and prizes. Businesses and organizations are invited to participate free of charge. Some examples of appropriate participants can range from educational, health and social organizations to dance, cheer, karate and musical type businesses and many others.
